A breakthrough is long overdue in bridging the $450 billion gap in financing for protecting and restoring forests. This Climate Week, CDP and the Doris Duke Foundation are pleased to bring together influential leaders at the nexus of forests and finance to discuss the barriers and potential break throughs to scale financing for forests stewardship and aligning food security with industry in a forests-first approach.
Attendees will engage in meaningful discussions around the collaboration, incentives and innovation needed for us to begin delivering systemic change in capital flows as well as the importance of a “write once, use many” approach to forests-related data and markets to ensure meaningful use of data.

CDP data shows that while some industries—power generation and infrastructure, for example— are continuing to demonstrate high rates of disclosure, others have stagnated. This closed-door roundtable will include a discussion on the current state of energy transition, financing challenges and transition finance.

This event will dive deep into new data from CDP and HSBC analyzing the imperative for companies to make their supply chains more sustainable in the face of climate change. Using data from over 23,000 disclosing companies, we will present the rationale for addressing these issues and explore how corporate buyers’ actions are incentivizing and enabling change across their supply chains. To support buyers, we will outline a roadmap for driving supply chain action, supported by use case studies and learnings from companies that have already brought these steps to life in practice. Finally, we will explore how sustainable supply chain finance can catalyze and enable this transition.
